Grandeur, of an ancient song

Hello Winter, I'm glad you've found me
Its a familiar feeling now :)
But unlike the Summer a few years back
which was hazy and lost, unsettling
like a teeter on the brink, this time -
you will not overwhelm me!

For this time, stronger than ever
I have his words ringing in my ear.
I have the words of his master,
and of the ones before them,
to help me peel the shadows off the wall.
I can feel its saturating embrace,
and the grandeur of that ancient song,
will keep winter from forming
a crust of ice. Winter, I welcome you :)

I'll thaw, and I'll thrive
and that patch of grass
will be sunlit and green.
